Software Engineer (Productivity Engineering)

Being the second biggest tech team of this huge international business with more than 500 colleagues of 30+ nationalities, we focus purposefully on building real big scale and impeccable quality solutions for e-commerce platform: from core backend, shop frontend and API to mobile apps.

Join our Engineering team as a Software Engineer at the Vilnius office, and be a part of building the most advanced technology platform for e-commerce. Our stack consists of Go, Ruby, Python, Elixir, NodeJs, with the biggest parts being in PHP + Symfony supported by IaC and managed with top-of-the-shelf tools such as Terraform, Chef, NewRelic in a GCP hosted environment.

In this position, you will help our engineering organization to increase productivity by reducing infrastructure bottlenecks, shortening feedback loops and counterproductive waiting times, and removing blockers. You will create processes and tools to improve development workflow efficiency and then measure the success of your projects with the help of SLIs.

Responsibilities

    Improving efficiency in our developer workflow with tooling, instrumentation, automation, and infrastructure

    Continuous improvement of our Docker-based developer environment, K8s testing/staging environments. Measuring and improving convenience, monitoring usage, and reducing operational costs

    Improving tooling around CI/CD pipelines, while working with the system as a whole to reduce pipeline cost and duration while increasing stability

    Supporting observability of all the systems, helping teams to achieve a data-driven decision mindset

    Working closely with the engineering teams to define productivity KPIs and implementing instrumentation

Requirements

    3+ years of experience in software development
  • add
    Familiarity with Go/Ruby/Python or a combination of these

    Knowledge of containerization principles (LXC, ContainerD, Docker)
  • add
    Experience with CI/CD tooling (f.e. Jenkins, Spinnaker, CloudBuild, GitHub/Gitlab actions)

    Experience with Infrastructure as Code toolings such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible
